First Things First
So, you’ve decided to look into buying an Erin Condren planner but you’re overwhelmed with all of the customization options!? It really can feel like a lot of decisions to make when thinking about buying that perfect planner, especially when you’re investing in an expensive one. But don’t worry, because it is simpler than you think to customize your teacher planner. In fact, in can be really fun, too!
Let me reassure you that you are definitely getting a quality product by purchasing from Erin Condren. Should any issue or small mistake arise, they have a great customer service team that will help you reasonably resolve any concerns.
And don’t forget that you don’t have to be a teacher to use the teacher planner! I think the weekly layout is excellent for a wide variety of needs, including homeschooling and content planning as well.
Let’s walk through all of the wonderful options available to you to customize your Erin Condren Teacher Lesson Planner.
Customization Options

Covers
The first option you have to customize with an Erin Condren planner is the cover. The company sells so many beautiful options. You can choose which one you have when you first purchase your teacher planner, and then there are many options to purchase in addition to your original cover choice as well.
Durability
I personally think the Erin Condren laminate planner cover is the best planner cover out there in the paper planner world. I find it’s so sturdy that it holds up much better than a cardboard planner cover. I love that it has clear teeth that make it super easy to pop in and out of the binding. If you do happen to ever have damage to your cover, which I never have after 9 years of using Erin Condren planners, you can simply order a new one for a small fee.
I’ve found it so easy to take my teacher planner from home to work daily. Between the strong binding and durable planner cover, I have never had any signs of damage at all. I’ve never needed to purchase a new planner cover because of damage at all. I think it’s the best in the business!
Options to Purchase
One of my favorite things about Erin Condren is the ability to switch out different covers. When you get tired of one cover, you no longer feel the need to purchase a whole new planner. Simply changing out the cover design is all you need to do!
Erin Condren sells many beautiful cover options. If you are considering purchasing one, don’t forget that the teacher planner is the larger size, 8.5″x11″ so be sure to order the same size planner cover. The smaller planner cover size is for their regular life planner.

If you like the specific cover you see above, I actually made it myself! You can purchase a digital download of the Winter Collage Planner Cover in my Etsy shop (I’ll be listing it later this week and then updating the link here!). Then, upload it to the Create Your Own Design Cover, and Erin Condren will create it for you!
Some other covers that you can personalize and add your own photos to include the Collage Cover and the Yearly Memories Cover. It’s so much fun to have your planner cover represent your family and happy moments from your past year. One year I uploaded my baby’s newborn pictures to my planner. It brought so much joy every time I saw it!
Other cover planner designs that I personally love are the EttaVee Garden Cover, EttaVee Woven Cover, and the Metallic Watercolor Palms Cover.
Erin Condren sells new cover planners for $8.50 to $13.50. EttaVee is my favorite designer! Which ones do you like the most? Let me know in the comments below!
Purchase Prices & Choices
The teacher planner’s base price is $57.50. If you’d like to purchase a planner cover with shimmery metallic, then your base price will be $62.50.
Choose Your Coil Color
Next you get to pick your coil color. The standard “free” option is platinum, a silver color which I always get to save a little money. You can see the silver coil color in all of the photos here. If you’d like to have a gold or rose gold coil instead, it is $10 more.
Option to Personalize
Erin Condren lets you personalize your cover with your name, a favorite quote, your school, or even the year. There is no added cost to personalize. You do not have to add any text to your planner cover if you do not want to. It’s totally up to you! This is the perfect way to customize your teacher planner and really make it your own.

Choose Your Layout
This is my favorite part! You get to decide whether you’d like your teacher planner weekly layout to be in the Horizontal format (the original teacher planner format with no weekend space) or the Vertical format.
The vertical format has the dates at the top and also has space for the weekend. This is the format I chose and you can see a picture of the horizontal format above. There is no added cost for either format option.

Choose Your Interior Design
Erin Condren always offers more than one design choice for the planner. While there is a separate minimalist version of the teacher planner, you can also choose between two colorful designs. The current planner design choices are EtttaVee and Bold Blooms.
You will see pictures of the EttaVee interior design on this post. The Bold Blooms uses more muted tones with pretty watercolor flowers on the top of some planner pages. Navy, soft pink, and mustard yellow are some of the tones the Bold Blooms uses.
EttaVee, on the other hand, uses bright and bold colors. The monthly colors for EttaVee are the traditional Erin Condren monthly colors she’s had for years, while Bold Blooms uses more muted and toned down colors on the monthly and weekly layout pages. The stickers at the back of the planner are also different and align more with the Bold Blooms design.

Choose Your Calendar Option
Next you get to decide the exact months of your planner. If you purchase your calendar in May when it just comes out, you can choose if you’d like for your planner to start in August or wait for it to start in the following January.
While there’s no guarantee, you can also sometimes choose to purchase an 18 month planner instead of a 12 month planner. This means the coil will be larger and you’re purchasing more paper. So if they give this option in May of 2025 (no guarantee that they will, either), expect to pay an added fee for an 18 month planner.

Choose the Number of Checklist Pages
Each planner comes with 20 checklist pages at the back of the planner to track student progress, grades, or permission slip forms. You can purchase an additional 20 checklist pages (so 40 pages total) for $5.
Choose the Number of Sheet Protectors
While you are no longer able to add on extra sheet protectors for the 2024-2025 teacher planner, I am pretty confident they may once again provide this option to anyone purchasing the new 2025-2026 teacher planner that comes out in May. If you have more than one paper you’d like to highlight and have in your planner at all times, it’s great that you can purchase additional sheet protectors for an added fee.
Choose Any Add-Ons
If you’d like, you can currently purchase an add-on of 20 Extra Curricular pages for $5.
