Simple All Season Porch Decor | Perfect for Back-to-School Pics
This super simple all season porch decor will freshen up the first space you see when returning home! It makes the perfect backdrop for back-to-school pics and beyond.

I recently realized the front porch of our house was still bare! My family and I moved cross country a few months ago. We have been so busy unpacking, organizing, and settling into new routines that back-to-school time crept up on me this year. When I thought about taking our back-to-school pictures, I realized there wasn’t any sort of decor outside. We don’t have a ton of space on our porch area, but I wanted to at least include the basics including a wreath and a doormat. I needed simple all season porch decor that is budget-friendly since it can last throughout the majority of the year.
To me, this was the perfect time to dress up that area I overlooked. I didn’t want to break the bank, but I still wanted to find what I was looking for at the most basic level, knowing I would add more throughout the years. I love how fast Amazon shipping is, and I was so happy to find everything I needed there.
After I share my purchases, I do share some dreamy Anthropologie and Pottery Barn options as well. There are so many good choices for sale right now! It’s hard to go wrong.

I wanted my overall decor choices to be neutral enough to last most of the year. I also wanted to know if the items for sale were vetted with good reviews online. Thankfully, this eucalyptus wreath to fit the bill. It honestly looks just as good in person straight out of the box! Some other wreaths required a bit of fluffing to look as good as the pictures, but this one looked great without any effort.
This simple wreath hanger is currently the number one bestseller for wreath hangers and is only $5.99. It’s no-frills basic, and you can’t beat the price for this functional yet necessary part of porch decor.

I was delightfully surprised at how much I love this circle-monogrammed doormat! It looks well-made in real life. The black decorative edges look as if they’re made out of metal but it’s actually a bendy rubbery material! I think it will stand up well against the Florida heat, but I’ll be sure to update in a few months. The look it gives to our entrance is beautiful and elevated-and I thought it was a great price as well.

I love a good coastal decor style, and this light blue and cream rug with hints of gold threading is just the right nod towards this style. It’s like a regular rug-isn’t stiff and won’t hold shape like a traditional doormat. Instead, this is a rug to layer underneath a traditional doormat like the monogrammed one above.
I previously ordered this Amazon black and white checkered rug that has been trending for a few years, and I love it! I originally intended to use it on my porch in my old house. But this rug really won’t work if it gets direct rain on it. I ended up happily using it inside during fall and Halloween. The blue and white rug with hints of gold is made of similar material. This rug is also best if your porch is covered or used indoors somewhere (in my opinion!).
I didn’t buy anything else for my porch for now! It’s basic, but enough for back-to-school pics. I really thought about bringing my planters out with artificial or real flowers or ferns. However, we have too many spiders near our front porch at the moment and I didn’t want to create another place for them to nest in-oh Florida! I love the sunshine and palm trees, but there are also so many bugs.

These artificial ferns are a great choice and I almost bought them! I might buy them in the future. If you read the comments, I think they look great with these black planters.

I love a good scalloped edge! I almost bought this Anthropologie hello doormat, but the Amazon monogrammed one won out simply because of its lower price. Both are cute, and you can’t go wrong with either choice. If something ever happens to our monogrammed doormat, I will definitely check if this one is still for sale!
I couldn’t find any Amazon outdoor lanterns that I liked, but Pottery Barn has so many great choices.

There is a vast amount of gorgeous outdoor lanterns for sale from Pottery Barn. The Malta Outdoor Lantern is beautiful in the bronze finish. It’s available in three sizes and is the most moderately priced from $39-$119 on sale, usually priced from $39-$129.
The Fallon Forged Iron Lantern is my favorite! It comes in brass and bronze, and I love the brass color. The Fallon lantern costs between $149-$229. With an empty slate new-build home that needs lots of decorating and furnishing, I can’t prioritize this right now. I really wish I could, though, because those lanterns are gorgeous! : )
The Caleb Handcrafted Metal Lantern comes in three different sizes within a current sale price range of $49.50-$179, regularly priced at $69-$199.
Don’t stop there! There are so many more amazing options at Pottery Barn. I think looking over their Lanterns & String Lights is so worth it! Who else gets joy from looking at all the pretty things?
